Yesterday UN Human Rights Committee indicated to Belarus interim measures in the communication concerning its aggression against Ukraine. 1/4

The communication was lodged by 3 nationals of Ukraine and 3 nationals of Belarus who reside in 4 cities in Ukraine. According to Ukrainian officials, 3 of these cities have been targeted by missiles launched from the territory of Belarus. 5 complainants have become IDPs. 2/4

Claim: Belarus by allowing Russia to use its territory and infrastructure for perpetrating acts of aggression against Ukraine has failed with respect to the complainants to prevent the risk of arbitrary deprivation of life, ill-treatment, deprivation of security of person. 3/4

The Committee requested Belarus "not to allow the use of its territory and infrastructure to conduct military operations, which have a direct impact and causes a real risk of ill treatments and arbitrary deprivation of life for the authors". 4/4
